Custom projects open with a three-month proof of concept covering gene synthesis, tailored baculovirus production, expression in inoculated chrysalises, and a purification strategy reported with preliminary yield, purity and concentration; scaling up for industrialization takes a further four to six months and steps from one liter through ten liters to batches of 50 to 400 liters. Manufacturing sits in the Bizkaia science and technology park at Derio, near Bilbao, where 2,300 of 4,000 square meters are given to production under GMP guidelines, with a separate R&D laboratory in Madrid.
