Three PhD scientists from the University of South Carolina, Andrew Lee, Qian Wang and William Brewer, started the business in January 2013 inside a university incubator program; a purpose-built laboratory and headquarters opened in October 2016 in the greater Columbia area of South Carolina. Two brands carry most of the range. IMCSzyme is a set of pure beta-glucuronidase products manufactured in the United States, used to hydrolyze more than a million samples a month, sitting alongside the Sulfazyme sulfatase family. IMCStips hold loose resin inside the tip and come in affinity, size exclusion, ion exchange, reverse phase, nucleic acid and phosphopeptide chemistries, with methods validated on Hamilton, Tecan, INTEGRA, Opentrons, Analytik Jena and Dynamic Devices liquid handlers. A newer glyco reagents line supplies glycosyltransferases, nucleotidyltransferases, activated sugars and glycan synthesis kits. Buyers span toxicology laboratories, academic groups, US federal agencies and more than 700 health science companies worldwide.
