Since being acquired by NanoImaging Services (NIS), a US-based cryo-EM CRO, Proteos has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary from laboratories in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Three expression platforms are available: mammalian cell, baculovirus and insect cell, and bacterial systems, supported by molecular biology work that includes construct design, gene synthesis, and endotoxin-free plasmid DNA isolation. Antibody projects cover recombinant expression and affinity purification of full-length IgG and antibody fusion proteins, using either in-house or client-supplied expression vectors. Purification is paired with customizable analytics packages, and the assay menu runs to baculovirus titer, thermal shift assay (TSA), intact mass measurement, and colorimetric and fluorometric readouts. SPR and BLI binding assays were added recently with a one to two week turnaround, feeding a Gene-to-Structure pipeline that continues into cryo-EM structure determination; a published example covers the drug-metabolizing enzyme CYP3A4.
