What is your company’s mission?

To provide the medical and diagnostic communities with the highest quality tools to help in understanding biological processes that may lead to the diagnosis and cure of disease.

What products and services do you offer?

Founded in 1977, our core business is the development and manufacture of recombinant proteins, antibodies and immunoassays (ELISA and Luminex). We offer services to custom develop or modify all types of products in this area.

What problems do you solve?

Our products and services are routinely leveraged to present solutions that other vendors cannot provide. The unrivalled quality and lot-to-lot consistency of our RUO proteins, antibodies and immunoassays provides the foundation for basic research across all areas of biological research.

We partner with our customers to deliver products for therapeutic and diagnostic use, including GMP proteins and antibodies. Currently, we successfully supply custom GMP reagents that are in clinical trials and on the market custom diagnostic immunoassays.

What are the most innovative tools and technologies that you offer?

The majority of our services leverage the same methods that have been optimized over decades to populate our retail product pipeline. More recently we have supported an increased demand for antibody engineering (conversion of hybridoma/B-cell derived antibodies to recombinant and further modification).

Who are your clients?

All custom service relationships are protected for confidentiality. We serve primarily the biotech/pharma industry and a smaller proportion of academic accounts.

What new products and services are you developing in 2021?

R&D Systems has tens of thousands of catalog products and releases approximately 1500 new products every year. Current areas of focus include supporting COVID-19 research, products for the cell and gene therapy market and the newest immune checkpoint proteins. For our custom protein services, we now offer custom protein libraries to select over 5,000 proteins for high-throughput screening experiments

Where are your laboratories and offices located?

Our ISO-certified, FDA regulated, 500,000 square-foot headquarter facility is located in Minneapolis, USA. All product development and manufacturing occur under optimized SOPs governed by a stringent quality management system.
